We had a wonderful time during our trip to the Dáil on Wednesay 19th February 2014. All of 4th, 5th and 6th class went on this trip. It was very interesting and we asked loads of questions! We thank Helen Mc Entee TD for her help organising this very memorable day for us!
A mass will be celebrated tonight in the church for Fr. Connaughton's sister, Sr. Mary Connaughton at 7.30pm. All are welcome. School choir please attend in full school uniform.
Our Paired Reading Programme started today for Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class, Pupils and parents joined together to read and discuss different books. Next session will be held next Wednesday at 9.15am (Ms. Kirk's class) and 10am (Ms. Keenan's class. Thanks to the parents who took part. We look forward to seeing you again.
We are so proud of our two Credit Union Quiz teams. Team A (under 11's) came 3rd in the competition and our B team (over 11's) came 1st!!!
Well done to all involved and to their teachers Mrs. Rowe and Mrs. Tully for preparing them. Team A - Jaydon O Brien, Rebecca Mc Shane, Josh Flanagan and Molly O Sullivan. Team B - Cormac Martin, James Durnin, Aoibheann Mooney and Alison Griffin. Our winning team will now go on to the next round of the competition! Swimming lessons will begin for all pupils this Friday 7th February and will run for 8 weeks.
REMINDER: Paired Reading will begin for Ms. Kirk's class and Ms. Keenan's class this Wednesday morning the 5th February. Ms. Kirk's class: 9.15am and Ms. Keenan's class: 10am . We invite parents/grandparents to join their children to read for fun. This will run in the school for four weeks and each session will last approximately half an hour.
We would like to wish you all a very happy St. Brigid's Day! There is an ongoing tradition in this school that the Senior pupils make St. Brigid's Crosses to present to Fr. Connaughton who then distributes them among the sick and elderly in the Parish when he visits them.
