Daffodil day will take place this Friday 24th March. We ask all pupils to wear non uniform or dress up and donate what they can to this worthy cause.
To celebrate Seachtain na Gaeilge, today we held our own "Lá Glas" in the school where pupils wore green to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Ms Lennon also did Irish dancing with us. As a special surprise, to celebrate our Credit Union Quiz success, Peace Proms choir, Church choir, Soccer teams, Gaelic team, Green School committee, Active School committee and to thank all our pupils for their hard work and enthusiasm all year lunch has been provided for all. We wish you a very happy St. Patrick's Day :)
Congratulations and very well done to our Boy's soccer team and Girl's soccer team who took part in the FAI Spar Primary School competition in the MDL in Navan. Both teams played very well and our girl's team made it to the Quarter final. We are very proud of you all. Thanks to Mr. Hickey for preparing them for this.
The winning streak continues in Drumconrath National School. Both our under 11 and under 13 teams took part in the chapter final in the Nuremore hotel, Carrickmacross yesterday, Sunday 5th March. Our Under 11 team came 1st and our under 13 team came second. Both of these teams now go forward to the National Finals in Dublin on 2nd April in the RDS. We are so proud of you all.
Under 11's- Oisín Reilly, Shauna Carolan, Muireann McMahon, Sophie Clarke Under 13's-Peter Griffin, Adam McGahan, Aaron Tighe, Oran McMahon World Book Day took place on Thursday 2nd March. To Celebrate this, our Senior Classes took part in paired reading sessions with our infant classes. They read a book together and really enjoyed this time.
The pupils and staff of Drumconrath National School would like to pass on their deepest sympathies to our secretary, Betty Halpin on the passing of her beloved sister Joan Breen (nee Russell). Our thoughts and prayers are with all her family at this sad time.
Ar Dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis. Our Book Fair will take place in the school hall from Monday 6th March until Friday 10th March 2017. All pupils will have an opportunity to visit the fair each day. The book fair will be open to parents every day from 1.50pm-2.50pm. All welcome.
The very best of luck to our two quiz teams who will take part in the Chapter Final of the Credit Union Inter Primary Credit Union quiz on Sunday 5th March in the Nuremore hotel at 3pm. Thank you to Mrs. Rowe and Mrs. Woods for preparing the teams so well and special thanks to Sharon Carolan and Theresa McMahon for working with both teams over the last number of weeks.
This is definitely one of our favourite days of the year in Drumconrath National School. We all really enjoyed our pancakes today and are now ready for lent.
Well done to all the pupils in Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class who completed their paired reading programme this week and received their certificates.Huge thank you to all the parents/grandparents etc who joined us for these sessions. We hope it was an enjoyable time for you all.
