We were delighted that our Senior pupils were invited to St. Louis Secondary School in Carrick to see their production of "Oklahoma" by Rodgers and Hammerstein. It was a wonderful performance and we were so impressed. We congratulate our past pupils who took part in the production, including Michelle Duff who had one of the leading roles, Kellie McCluskey who was involved in both choreography and performing and Aoife Flanagan and Niamh Martin who also had important roles to play. We are so proud of all of you and we thank you for being such an inspiration to our pupils.
We are very excited and proud in our classroom today! The Credit Union Quiz was held in the Bohemian Centre in Ardee last night at 8pm. We had two teams competing this year. Our A team (under 11's) and B team (over 11's). Our A team came 3rd and our B team came 1st in their section!! Well done to all our pupils!!
There is an ongoing tradition in this school that the Senior pupils make St. Brigid's Crosses to present to Fr. Connaughton who then distributes them among the sick and elderly in the Parish when he visits them.
Today we led our school assembly. We chose the theme of Emigration. We remembered members of our families and community who have emigrated and who came home to visit at Christmas. We prayed and recited a poem. Our special guest Edel's Grandad Vincent Finnegan came to join us. He played the accordian and sang some Irish songs. We had a great time. Ms. Carroll presented the birthday certificates and the Class of the Month award for January. Guess who won!!! That's right, we did. We won the award for being great leaders in our school and for our maturity. We are delighted with this. Have a look at the photos below of our assembly.
